Media Release: Queenstown Community Q&A Webinar - Monday, 6 July @ 7.30pm
Southern Infrastructure is hosting a community webinar focused on open questions and discussion about the Queenstown Cable Car, including the role ropeway technology could play as part of a broader integrated transport network for the Whakatipu Basin.
The session will provide an update on recent project developments and explore how the proposed system could form part of a broader integrated transport network for the district — including transport integration, park-and-ride facilities, active travel connections and the pathway to delivering major public transport infrastructure in Queenstown.
Guest speaker Garreth Hayman (CEO, Doppelmayr New Zealand) will share insights from his experience with ropeway systems, including the opportunities and considerations involved in delivering major public transport infrastructure and the role these technologies are increasingly playing in modern transport networks around the world.
The session will conclude with an open Q&A.
